Hi! I am Kane
My musical profession started after I graduated from clarinet major and flute minor in the National Arts Culture and Heritage Academy (ASWARA), Kuala Lumpur.
I was fortunate to land more opportunities as a member of Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO) as we traveled for performances whilst participated in multiple masterclasses by world class soloists and orchestra principals.
Amongst many musical encounters, I have finally landed my passion in running my own repair studio for wind instruments – servicing woodwind and brass instruments. I am also honored to be recognized as the first Straubinger Certified Flute Technician in Malaysia! Prior to that, I was trained in a Yamaha Authorized Service Centre under the guidance of Mr Tan Eng Pin for 4 years.
I believe that a well-maintained instrument will inspire musicians of all levels to play and sound better. It is in my passion to provide the best quality service for fellow music enthusiasts locally and internationally.

kok kian wahOctober 17, 2023In 2022, I got to know Kane and his team. I entrusted my Yamaha 581H flute, which had been with me for ov er thirty years, to Kane for major repairs. They did not disappoint and successfully brought this "old flute" that holds special significance and memories for me back to life, shining brightly once more. Since then, my friends in Johor Bahru have also entrusted their instruments to Kane's team for repairs. My other flutes, piccolos, alto flutes, and bass flutes, as well as some alto and bass flutes from the Johor Bahru Atelier Flute Ensemble I participate in, were also serviced by them. All the while, Kane regularly discussed and communicated with me and my flute friends about the detailed conditions of the instrument repairs and provided professional advice. They also educated us on instrument maintenance, giving us a better understanding of it. I would like to express my gratitude to Kane and his team for their professional care of our instruments and I'd recommend Kane and his team as instrument "doctors" for everyone!
